Red Bird does not = Cardinal

This bird, along with some other red birds, was hanging around on the tree right outside our family room. I mistakenly thought that he/she was a cardinal because he/she was red and there were cardinals around. But when Tommy quit laughing at me he told me that not all red birds are cardinals.
