January and the Park Seed Catalog

It’s dangerous to get the Park Seed catalog in the middle of winter. When it’s cold and dreary outside is really not the time to go shopping in their catalog. Tommy had to hold me back when I started ordering flowers. The one variety that I was most anxious to see has finally bloomed–another cone flower! When it starts to open up the petals look more like a zinnia. The fully-opened flower is so vibrant.

  1. I had to laugh at this—those seed/gardening/nursery companies are smart devils, to send us those glorious catalogs in the middle of the worst weather. My weakness is the Wayside Gardens catalog; you can order plants through them and they have an incredible variety. Their catalog is so detailed it is nearly a reference book. Love your coneflowers. Mine were eaten >:(
