Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning

On my way to work that morning I decided to go by the YMCA to visit a friend of mine. While there, someone came in and told us that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. At that point everyone thought it was a horrible accident. When I got to work a bit later it was becoming pretty clear this was not an accident, but an attack on our country. I stayed at the office for a little while then went home. The rest of the day I sat in front of the TV just wondering what in the world was going on–so afraid for our country and so very sad for the victims.

This song still gives me the chills when I listen to it:
Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning by Alan Jackson
