At least the zinnias and sunflowers are hanging on.
As in many places in the US, it has really been hot and dry here. Even though the flowers out front have been watered, the zinnias are the only ones right now that still look good. The sunflowers out back in the garden are doing fairly well, but none of them are as big around …

The flowers in our yard.
Even though it’s been hot and dry, we still have some beautiful flowers blooming. The really big sunflowers still haven’t bloomed, but hopefully they will in a few days.
Anne, Cleg, George and Gracie came to visit.
We made them go waterfall looking with us on Friday morning. Thursday night brought a lot of rain and we were concerned that the trail in would be really wet. Surprisingly, it was OK. Happy 4th of July!
We weren’t expecting to see fireworks, but the people in Happy Valley put on a pretty good show. There’s something to be said about sitting on the deck watching fireworks with the mountains in the background.
